Whilst South Queensferry may feel a million miles away from the hubbub of city life; Edinburgh is only a short journey away and easily accessible by road and public transport; with the No. 43 Lothian bus stop only a few meters from the hotel and the main train line only a short walk from us at Dalmeny Station.

With the famous Queensferry Crossing for road traffic and the world renowned & iconic UNESCO heritage Forth Rail Bridge for trains at either end of our town, basing yourself in SQ also allows you to explore further north into Scotland, visiting the many towns of Fife, Perthshire and the Highlands beyond.

Filled with its own history (witches, ghosts & royal travellers) as well as that of the surrounding areas (12th century island cathedrals and 2 stately homes) the pretty town of South Queensferry sits on the shore of the Firth of Forth.

The town is home to an array of independent cafes selling delicious cakes and ice-creams, gift shops full of fun, creative and unique gifts as well as the colourful houses that run along the picturesque high street.

You can walk along the coastal path for uninterrupted views towards Fife and Leith, visit the tranquil Hawthorn Bank Garden Mosaic Wall or get your feet wet down at the Port Edgar marina.
